Why a herd share?
Raw milk is illegal to sell in the state of Virginia. This is why many seek out a herd share. You buy a share of the herd (part ownership) and pay a boarding fee to us for the care and milking.
Why Goat Milk?
Goat milk can be easier to digest than cow's milk due to the fact that it is naturally homogenized. It has smaller fat globules and softer curds. Goat milk does not separate into layers, and with this the cream does not build upon standing.
Goat milk is perfect for soaps, yogurt and cheeses due to its high content of Vitamin A and fatty acids. It is also higher in calcium, phosphorus and protein than cow's milk. Goat milk can be very nutritious!
